At the Groton Publick House Pub & Eatery, we are passionate about creating delicious, high-quality meals using fresh ingredients sourced from local farmers. Chef Chris created Smoke Show BBQ during Covid to bring the party to you! Smoke Show BBQ is essentially the BBQ experience portion of our catering services. A graduate of the prestigious New England Culinary Institute, Chef Frothingham has years of experience and has worked at some of the country’s finest dining destinations.
He began his thriving career as a line cook under the highly respected Frank McClelland at Boston’s Sel de la Terre. A long-time admirer of the renowned chef, Todd English, Frothingham embraced the opportunity that would set off his career when English opened Bonfire at the Park Plaza Hotel. Impressing English from the beginning with his culinary talent, Frothingham worked his way up the ranks within the Todd English Empire. For eight years, he worked as Executive Chef at Bonfire, Kingfish Hall and Fish Club in Seattle, Washington. Moving Back to the East Coast, Chef Chris helped open Vinebrook Taven, in Lexington MA. Next he opened Great Road Kitchen in Littleton. During this time Chef Chris partnered with Jeff Garibotto to open the Groton Publick House. After almost 30 years in the kitchen Chef Chris has narrowed his focus to the Publick House, and its off and on site catering,

Smoked & Pulled Pork: A Smoke Show Legend! Pork butts are rubbed with chipotle peppers, brown sugar, salt, and herbs and left to sit overnight. Then the butts are smoked until the meat is succulent and falls apart $115
Smoked Beef Brisket: Rubbed with salt and pepper, and smoked for about 14 hours. The brisket is chopped and tossed with SSBBQ sauce $150
St. Louis Ribs: Dry rubbed and smoked until tender. brushed with SSBBQ sauce, finished on the grill. 2- racks (24 bones) $78
